It all started as a joke. In the 2020 mockumentary “Jazz Sabbath,” the band’s leader, Adam Wakeman (who had been associated with Ozzy and Black Sabbath for years), claimed that he had written these songs back in the 1960s and had been robbed of them. The fictional story turned into a full-fledged band with three albums to its credit. Jazz Sabbath takes the best of Black Sabbath and reworks it in the style of ambitious jazz. They sound so good, it’s impossible not to love them.
